Asus Unveils Vivobook S 15 With Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite SoC

At Asus' online-only "Next Level. AI Incredible" launch event, the company announced the new Vivobook S 15, powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite SoC. The Vivobook S 15 is Asus' first Copilot+ PC, meaning it has enhanced Windows AI features and exclusive Asus AI apps that claim to improve productivity and entertainment.

The Snapdragon X Elite platform brings hardware-accelerated AI to the Vivobook S 15, improving performance and efficiency. Asus even claims the S 15 offers up to 18 hours of battery life with the 70Wh battery onboard.

The 15.6-inch Vivobook S 15 features a 3K 120Hz OLED display, Harman Kardon audio, and a lightweight 1.42kg magnesium alloy body that measures 14.7 mm thin. The S 15 gets up to 32GB RAM, 1TB PCIe SSD and WiFi 6E/Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity from Qualcomm's FastConnect 7800.

At the heart of the laptop is the Snapdragon X Elite platform with a Hexagon NPU for on-device AI. It offers features like Windows Studio camera effects, live captions and sketch-to-art AI conversion. The Asus AiSense IR camera also enables presence detection for auto-dimming/locking. In addition, the S 15 is the first laptop to come with the StoryCube app, which uses AI to manage, edit and export photos and videos.

The pricing and availability details of the Snapdragon X Elite-powered Vivobook S 15 will be announced at a later date.
