The Ather 450S was earlier powered by a 2.9 kWh battery.
Ather Energy has updated the 450S for 2025 with the bigger 3.7 kWh battery, replacing the 2.9 kWh option from before. While performance figures have remained the same where it still hits a top speed of 90 kmph, with the bigger battery pack, the Ather 450S will now be able to do 161 km of claimed range. Even the Ather 450X is powered by the same 3.7 kWh battery and it is priced at ₹1.60 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) , but the 450S is priced at ₹1.43 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), thereby bridging the gap by offering extended range at a more affordable price.
The rest of the scooter has remained the same wherein it continues to boast the same sharp, silhouette design. The new 3.7 kWh battery continues to be paired to the 5.4 kW motor producing 22 Nm of torque, and just like before it can accelerate from 0-40 kmph in 3.9 seconds. The same four ride modes – Smart Eco, Eco, Ride, and Sport, have continued too.
Feature-wise, the Ather 450S continues to boast the same 7-inch TFT console that supports Bluetooth connectivity as standard. This console supports turn-by-turn navigation as standard, and there’s no Google Maps on offer here. Ather is also offering the AtherStack Pro with the 450S which will cost you an additional ₹15,000 and that will further get you features like Multi-mode traction, Magic Twist (Ather’s lingo for regenerative braking), Tow & Theft alert, Park Assist, Skid Control, Emergency Stop Signal, and Fall Safe.
“With the launch of the 450S featuring a 3.7 kWh battery pack and an IDC range of 161 kms, we're bringing the extended range previously exclusive to the 450X. The new 450S variant is specifically designed for riders who prioritize the sporty appeal and long-range capability of the 450 series over the advanced software features of the 450X,” concluded Ravneet Phokela, Chief Business Officer, Ather Energy Limited.
