Ather Energy is gearing up to launch its all-new Konarc electric scooter soon. But before that, the company is trying to convince us that the Konarc is going to be quite durable.

Ather Energy will officially unveil the new Konarc electric scooter on August 29, 2026 during the Ather Community Day event in Bengaluru. Positioned as an accessible, high-volume mainstream offering, the Konarc is anticipated to enter the market priced between ₹1 lakh and ₹1.25 lakh. Crucially, the scooter represents Ather's inaugural production model built on its new modular EL platform, an architecture intended to underpin a range of future electric vehicles.

Ahead of its reveal, Ather has showcased the scooter’s comprehensive testing cycle on Instagram that’s designed to replicate years of real-world ownership. The development cycle involved around 2,000 individual tests simulating over 1 lakh kilometres of riding.

Key mechanical evaluations included underbody kerb-impact testing for pothole resistance, a rough-road simulator, drop impact assessments, heavy payload trials, and dedicated rigs to test the longevity of the handlebar steering system, brake cables, key-lock mechanisms, and centre stand.

To ensure reliability across diverse weather conditions, the Konarc was subjected to thermal chamber testing, rain simulation, and water-wading procedures to protect sensitive mechanical and electrical components. Extended vibration testing was also conducted to evaluate structural resistance against continuous road shocks over thousands of kilometres.

Ather has already confirmed that the Konarc is built using a steel chassis paired with metal exterior body panels. This heavy-duty construction is engineered to deliver enhanced structural rigidity, ensuring the scooter can withstand the rigours of everyday Indian road conditions and intensive long-term usage.

Complete specifications covering battery capacity, motor performance, riding range, tech features, and official variant pricing will be announced at Ather Community Day 2026 on August 29.
