2023 has been nothing short of an exciting year for Ather Energy. The marque registered 88 per cent Y-o-Y growth with 1,11,410 units sold. With almost half a decade of production, Ather Energy has also accumulated significant data about its scooter usage. This will help develop its upcoming generation of family e-scooters, the name of which Ather recently confirmed will be called Ather Rizta.

The Interesting Data

As for the data that Ather Energy accumulated in 2023, the company saw a remarkable 1,98,496 scooters traverse an impressive 1.2 billion kilometres in the country. This is a 209 per cent increase in travel from the previous year. Moreover, in terms of daily travel, scooters in Nagercoil, Cuttack, Malappuram, Kozhikode, and Bhubaneswar recorded a daily average of 40 km of usage. This surpasses the national average of 26 km registered by most Ather owners.

Among metropolitan cities, Bengaluru leads the chart where Ather scooters covered 218.5 million kilometres at an average of 5,387 km per scooter. This is followed by Chennai where Ather owners covered 86.8 million kilometres. Telengana, Pune, and Delhi were among the other top cities that saw Ather scooters cover the most distance.

Warp Galore!

The ‘Warp’ mode was a hit among Ather 450X users. Owners clocked 115 million km in Warp mode alone in 2023. The ‘Warp mode’ saw maximum usage in Tumakuru, Karminagar, Kottayam, Mallapuram and Nagercoil. Similarly, Ather’s Park Assist also came handful to several users and a total of 162,000 km were used in reverse mode. This is four times the circumference of the earth!

Infrastructural Development

Such massive usage would not have been possible without a proper infrastructure and Ather Energy was at the forefront of it all. In 2023, over 900 Ather Grids were installed across India which brings the total to 1,600 + fast charging points across the country. These charging points have been strategically installed so that Ather customers don’t get stranded during their weekend getaway.  This further helped over 60,000 Ather owners to travel for more than 100 km on a single charge at least once in 2023.

The above numbers are a testament to how Ather Energy has grown from strength to strength. Moving into 2024, Ather 450X will be its last year of production. To commemorate this occasion, the marque launched the 450 Apex earlier this year. To know more about the same check out the review video below. Also, Ather will be soon launching a family scooter in our market.
