Ather promises to have a lot of surprises in store for its audiences.
Bengaluru-based Ather is all set to unveil its newest electric scooter, the Ather Rizta, tomorrow at its annual Ather Community Day event. This new offering marks a shift for Ather, targeting the family scooter market with a focus on comfort and practicality.
The Rizta will have what Ather claims is the largest seat in its class, a feature heavily emphasized in its marketing campaign that pits it against both ICE and EV competitors. This wide, long seat caters to the preferences of traditional scooter buyers seeking a comfortable ride for themselves and a passenger.
Another exciting addition is the anticipated ‘Halo’ smart accessory. Speculation suggests it could be a smart helmet with voice assistant capabilities, allowing riders to interact with the scooter and execute tasks through voice commands. More about it and other expectations from the community day here.
Performance-wise, the Rizta is expected to share the same powertrain as the 450X, which utilizes a 3.7 kWh battery pack paired with a PMSM mid-mounted motor that puts out a peak power of 6.4 kW. However, Ather might optimise Rizta's setup for extended range and efficiency, potentially sacrificing some peak performance.
Visually, the Rizta is expected to embrace a more traditional "chunky scooter" design, prioritizing function over flamboyant aesthetics. Teasers also hint at ample boot space, text-to-speech notification alerts, and a possible traction control system, enhancing safety and convenience.
Pre-bookings for the Rizta kicked off earlier, with a token amount of ₹999. The ex-showroom price is expected to be competitive, potentially undercutting the current Ather 450S by a significant margin. All will be revealed tomorrow at the Ather Community Day, so stay tuned for the official launch and detailed specifications of the Ather Rizta.
