Audi is expanding its Q4 e-tron lineup with the introduction of a new entry-level variant, the Q4 40 e-tron with bookings opening from March 13 in the UK. The Q4 40 e-tron delivers an electric range of up to 402 km for the SUV model and 415 km for the Sportback variant. It features a permanently excited synchronous motor (PSM) at the rear axle, generating 201 bhp. The vehicle accelerates from 0-100 kmph in 8.1 seconds and has a top speed of 133 km.
The model supports DC fast charging at a maximum power of 165 kW, allowing the battery to charge from 10 per cent to 80 per cent in 24 minutes under optimal conditions. A 10-minute charging session can add up to 150 km of range. The model maintains a towing capacity of 1,000 kg on a 12 per cent incline and 1,200 kg on an 8 per cent incline, making it suitable for light towing needs.
As with other Q4 e-tron variants, the Q4 40 e-tron features Audi’s integrated application store within its MMI system. This allows access to news, podcasts, sports, games, and entertainment apps without requiring a smartphone. For connectivity, a one-year, 25GB data package via Cubic Telecom is included.
The vehicle’s navigation system offers advanced planning tools, enabling users to filter charging stations by provider and set target charge levels for destinations. The infotainment system supports smartphone integration via a wireless or USB-C connection, allowing seamless access to navigation, music, and select third-party apps.
Additionally, Audi has integrated ChatGPT into the voice control system, enhancing the driver's ability to control infotainment, navigation, and climate settings using natural language commands. This feature is powered by the Azure OpenAI Service and Cerence Inc.’s Chat Pro solution.
