This is the first price adjustment by Audi India in 2026.
Audi India has announced a 2 per cent price increase across its complete model range in India, effective 1 April 2026, attributing the move to rising input costs and volatility in currency exchange rates. The revision will affect ex-showroom prices for all models currently on sale in the country, including the A4, A5, A6, Q3, Q3 Sportback, Q5, Q7, Q8, and RS Q8 Performance.
"Due to recent rising input costs and currency fluctuations, we are implementing a price adjustment of up to 2% effective from April 01, 2026. We remain committed to minimising the impact of the price hike on our customers," Balbir Singh Dhillon, Head of Brand at Audi India, said in a statement.
This is the first price adjustment by Audi India in 2026. It follows a pattern established by rival luxury brands: both BMW and Mercedes-Benz had already implemented price increases in January 2026, citing comparable pressures on manufacturing and import costs.
The announcement arrives just days before a significant product event for the brand. Audi India will launch the SQ8 variant of its flagship SUV on 17 March, slotting the performance model between the standard Q8, priced from ₹1.13 crore, and the range-topping RS Q8, which retails at ₹2.34 crore. The SQ8 is expected to be priced at around ₹1.9 crore ex-showroom. Bookings are already open at a token amount of ₹5 lakh.
The SQ8 shares its 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine with the RS Q8, though in a detuned state. In the SQ8, the motor produces 507 hp and 770 Nm of torque, compared to 640 hp and 850 Nm in the RS Q8. The standard Q8 is powered by a 3.0-litre turbo-petrol engine delivering 340 hp and 500 Nm. The SQ8 therefore offers an additional 167 hp and 270 Nm over the standard Q8. Power is routed through an 8-speed automatic transmission to all four wheels via Audi's quattro all-wheel-drive system. This setup enables the SUV to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.1 seconds.
The SQ8 will compete with models such as the Mercedes-Benz GLE 53 AMG Coupé and the Porsche Cayenne GTS.
