BMW has heavily reworked the aerodynamic package of the sportbike which has trickled down from its WorldSBK contender.
At the ongoing Auto Expo 2025, BMW Motorrad India has launched the latest iteration of its flagship sport bike, the S 1000 RR. Priced at ₹21.10 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the new BMW S 1000 RR will be available in a single variant.
While the bike hasn’t undergone any radical change as such, it does look slightly different. That is primarily down to the revised aero-winglets, which have been redesigned to produce more downforce, from 17.1 kg to 23.1 kg but you will only, or rather should only, experience the effect at the race track . The new S 1000 RR now also features brake cooling ducts which are integrated to the front wheel fender, and it improves the airflow around the fork legs and brake calipers.
The 999 cc, inline-4 engine continues to produce 206 bhp and 113 Nm at 13,750 rpm and 14,600 rpm, respectively. However, for 2025, BMW has introduced new riding modes to extract this performance more effectively. So, in addition to Rain, Road, Dynamic and Race, the new S 1000 RR is also available with Pro Riding Modes – Race Pro 1, 2, and 3. The Pro Ride Mode also incorporates a Hill-Start Control Pro function. Lastly, with great powers comes great responsibility and BMW has implemented that by equipping the S 1000 RR with M brakes as standard.
In addition to the above changes, the 2025 BMW S 1000 RR also sees a few minute upgrades. Like the chassis sees a few apertures to its side section that optimise its lateral flexibility. The suspension strut is now also height adjustable, and with Dynamic Damping Control (DDC) available as standard, the suspension damping gets three levels of adjustability.
Complimenting these thorough yet subtle changes are the new colour options – Black Storm Metallic, Bluestone metallic (with Style sport) and Light White solid / M Motorsport. Just like before, the BMW S 1000 RR is also available with two optional packages – Dynamic and M. The former gets rider comfort features like heated grips, electronic cruise control, and DDC electronic chassis. The latter gets you a M Sport seat, weight optimised M Carbon wheels, and a black filler cap.
