In April 2024, Tata Motors retailed a total of 77,521 units of both commercial and passenger vehicles.
Tata Motors has started FY24-25 on a pretty solid note by registering 12 per cent sales growth in April, 2024. It retailed a total of 77,521 units both in the domestic and export markets, compared to 68,514 units it retailed last year in the same month. Out of which, its commercial vehicle sales witnessed the most growth at 31 per cent , while sales of passenger vehicles (including EVs) increased merely by 2 per cent last month.
Interestingly, sales of EVs which include the likes of the Tata Punch EV, Tigor EV, Nexon EV, etc witnessed a slight downtick. For in April 2024, Tata Motors retailed 6,363 units (cumulatively), which was 2 per cent less than the 6,516 units it retailed in the same month last year, i.e. 2023.
Sales of its ICE-powered passenger vehicles were slightly high with 47,983 units retailed in the domestic market. Which was a 2 per cent Year-on-Year growth over the 47,107 units it sold last year in the same month. The launch of the new updated Nexon last month was one of the reasons behind this slight uptick. Ushering in a completely new design with more features, the new Nexon managed to catch the fancy of many people.
