Hyundai Motor India continues its strong performance in the domestic automobile market, with its popular SUV, the Creta, once again emerging as the top-selling passenger vehicle in April 2025. According to industry data, the Creta recorded sales of 17,016 units last month, reflecting a month-on-month growth of 10.16 percent over the 15,447 units sold in March 2025. The sales figures includes both ICE and Electric versions of the Creta.

This marks the fourth consecutive month in 2025 where the Creta has led passenger vehicle sales. Cumulatively, the model has clocked 69,914 units in the January–April 2025 period. Monthly figures show consistent demand: 18,522 units in January, 16,317 in February, 18,059 in March, and 17,016 in April.
However, the April sales chart also indicates a shift in consumer interest with the Maruti Suzuki Dzire making a notable comeback. The subcompact sedan secured the second position, as per industry insiders, pushing past established competitors including the Tata Punch and Maruti’s own Wagon R. The Dzire's resurgence is attributed in part to the launch of its latest-generation model introduced last year, which appears to be resonating with customers in both urban and semi-urban markets.

Joining the Dzire in the top ranks is another Maruti Suzuki product — the Brezza. The subcompact SUV rose sharply in the charts, climbing from sixth position in March to third place in April. While specific sales figures for both the Dzire and Brezza are yet to be officially released by Maruti Suzuki, industry sources indicate that both models crossed the 16,000-unit mark last month. The Brezza’s upward momentum further consolidates Maruti Suzuki’s presence in the SUV segment, where competition has intensified over the past year.
The exact ranking and numbers may be subject to slight revisions once the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) and OEMs publish official data. Nonetheless, early indications suggest that while Hyundai maintains its dominance with the Creta, Maruti Suzuki’s dual presence with the Dzire and Brezza is reshaping the competitive dynamics in the Indian passenger vehicle segment.
