Auto Sales April 2025: Hyundai Witnesses 4.6% Decline In Sales

Hyundai sold 60,744 units in April 2025, with 44,374 units sold in domestic market and 16,400 units exported. 

Hyundai Motor India sold 60,744 units in April 2025, witnessing a decline in sales by 4.6 per cent compared to April 2024 where it sold 63,701 units. The 60,744 units sold in April 2025 include 44,374 units sold in the domestic market as well as 16,400 units of exports. While exports have seen a year-on-year growth of 21 per cent compared to April 2025 (13,500 units exported), domestic sales saw a YoY decline of 11.6 per cent compared to the same period last year (50,201 units of domestic sales).

Since Hyundai’s inception in India in 1996, it has sold 9 million cars in the country. Hyundai also said it will start operations at its new Talegaon plant by the end of 2025.

Tarun Garg, Whole-time Director and Chief Operating Officer, HMIL said, “While the domestic market continues to face headwinds on account of various macro-economic factors, we continue to champion 'Make in India, Made for the World' emphasizing HMIL’s strong focus on exports. This has resulted in a robust 21.5% YoY growth in export volumes in April 2025 and 16.2% growth during January to April 2025 as compared to same period in the previous year.”
