Maruti Suzuki India Limited reported a total of 179,791 units sold in April 2025, marking a 7 per cent year-on-year growth compared to 168,089 units in April 2024. Domestic sales stood at 142,053 units, including 138,704 passenger vehicles and 3,349 light commercial vehicles (LCVs). The company also reported a significant uptick in OEM sales, which climbed to 9,827 units, up from 5,481 units in the same period last year. Export sales surged to 27,911 units, reflecting a notable increase from 22,160 units in April 2024.

The compact segment—comprising of models such as the Swift, Baleno, Dzire, WagonR, and Ignis—were the strongest performers, with sales reaching 61,591 units, up from 56,953 last year. SUVs including the Brezza, Ertiga, Grand Vitara, Fronx, and others continued to show steady demand, with 59,022 units sold compared to 56,553 in April 2024. Van sales, driven primarily by the Eeco, remained largely stable, with 11,438 units sold, a marginal dip from 12,060 units the previous year.

However, the company continued to face pressure in the entry-level segment. Sales of mini cars, including the Alto and S-Presso, declined sharply to 6,332 units from 11,519 units a year ago. The mid-size sedan Ciaz also saw a drop in demand, with sales falling to 321 units from 867 units in April 2024.
