Bajaj Auto’s domestic sales are still lower, both on a year-to-date (YTD) and month-on-month basis.
Bajaj Auto reported that it cumulatively retailed 1,84,109 bikes and scooters in August 2025, which was 12% less than the 2,08,621 units it registered last year in the same month. However, sales have increased when compared to July 2025 when Bajaj Auto retailed 1,39,279 units. With both two-wheelers and commercial vehicles combined, Bajaj Auto has cumulatively retailed 2,37,398 units, which is still 8% less than the 2,53,827 units it retailed in August 2024.
But the brand’s export business continues to drive in maximum sales figures. In August 2025, the Akurdi-based marque exported 25% more two-wheelers at 1,57,778 units, compared to 1,26,557 units last year in the same month. Cumulatively (two-wheelers & CV), the business grew by 29% with 1,85,218 units exported compared to 1,43,977 units exported last year in the same period.
On a year-to-date basis (April to August), Bajaj Auto’s domestic performance is still and with 8,52,742 two-wheelers retailed so far in the first 5 months of FY 26, it is still 11% less than the 9.59,965 units it retailed last year in the same period. However, two-wheeler export continues to increase healthily and with 7,34,193 units exported so far, Bajaj Auto’s export business has grown by 18% so far compared to 6,23,671 units exported last year in the same month.
Now that the rare earth magnet export ban from China has been lifted, Bajaj Auto will be looking forward to taking advantage of this development and further its EV sales, which for some months were dropping, as production had stalled. With an increase in production, sales for the same are also expected to increase, which would aid Bajaj to increase its domestic performance.
