Maruti Suzuki India Limited released its sales figures for December 2023, recording total sales of 137,551 units, comprising 106,492 units in domestic sales, 4,175 units sold to other Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), and 26,884 units exported. The company also achieved a milestone in the calendar year 2023 by crossing the annual sales mark of 2 million units, including its highest-ever annual exports of 269,046 units.
Breaking down the sales figures for December 2023, the company's mini and compact segment, which includes models like Maruti Suzuki Alto, Maruti Suzuki S-Presso, Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Maruti Suzuki Celerio, Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Maruti Suzuki Ignis, Maruti Suzuki Swift, Maruti Suzuki Tour S, and Maruti Suzuki WagonR, contributed 48,298 units. The mid-size sedan segment featuring the Ciaz added 489 units to the overall sales.
In the Utility Vehicles category, models such as Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Maruti Suzuki Fronx, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Maruti Suzuki Invicto, Maruti Suzuki Jimny, Maruti Suzuki S-Cross, and Maruti Suzuki XL6 collectively contributed 45,957 units in December. The vans segment, led by the Maruti Suzuki Eeco, recorded sales of 10,034 units.
The total domestic passenger vehicle sales (PV) for December amounted to 104,778 units, while the Light Commercial Vehicles (LCV) segment, driven by the Maruti Suzuki Super Carry, added 1,714 units. The domestic sales, combining PV and LCV, stood at 106,492 units.
Furthermore, Maruti Suzuki's sales to other OEMs accounted for 4,175 units in December. When considering the total domestic sales inclusive of PV, LCV, and OEM, the figure reached 110,667 units. On the export front, Maruti Suzuki shipped 26,884 units globally in December 2023, contributing to the total sales figure of 137,551 units.
