Overall sales is on the upward trajectory but exports have taken a major hit.

Royal Enfield continued its growth trajectory in January 2024, posting a 2% year-on-year increase in sales. This marks another milestone in the company's strong performance, putting it on track for a record-breaking year.

While the overall growth might seem modest, it's important to note that Royal Enfield's affordable 350cc motorcycles continue to be the main driver of sales. These models, including the ever-popular Classic 350 and Bullet 350, accounted for an impressive 89% of total sales, despite a slight dip compared to January 2023.

The growth wasn't limited to the affordable segment. Royal Enfield's premium 650cc motorcycles witnessed an impressive 31% jump in sales year-on-year. This surge, fueled by models like the Interceptor 650, Continental GT 650, and the Super Meteor 650 cruiser, highlights the growing demand for the brand's expanding portfolio of mid-sized retro-styled motorcycles. Looking at the bigger picture, Royal Enfield's domestic motorcycle sales for the April 2023 - January 2024 period grew by a noteworthy 10% compared to the same period last year. While the domestic market paints a rosy picture, the international front presents some challenges. Royal Enfield's exports in January 2024 declined by 20% year-on-year, primarily due to economic headwinds in key international markets. However, the company is determined to revive export growth in the coming months.

Considering the positive domestic performance and the potential for export revival, Royal Enfield is well-positioned to achieve record motorcycle sales in FY 2024. The company is also planning to launch a lot of new models in the coming year. Here are some of them caught on spy cam while testing
