No new products in recent times have seen a stagnant sales display from the Hosur-based bikemaker
TVS sales in June 2024 were 10% lower compared to the strong performance of May 2024. It saw sales reach around 3.69 lakh units. This decline could be attributed to seasonal fluctuations in demand or short-term adjustments in the market. Seasonal variations in sales are common in the automobile industry, and June might see a natural dip compared to the peak summer months.

Looking at the year-on-year performance, TVS achieved a commendable 5% growth compared to June 2023's 3.16 lakh units. Diving deeper into this segment, we see that domestic two-wheelers displayed even stronger growth of 8%, highlighting TVS's success in capitalising on the domestic market.
TVS motorcycle sales saw a moderate 3% increase, suggesting a stable market for this segment within TVS. Scooter sales, on the other hand, grew by a healthy 6%, indicating continued consumer preference for this category.
The electric vehicle segment continues to be a bright spot for TVS. Sales grew by a significant 10% year-on-year, showcasing the company's progress in this rapidly growing market. This strong performance positions TVS well to compete effectively in the electric vehicle space.
The lack of substantial new product launches in 2024 is not helping matters for the brand. The TVS Apache RTR 310, launched nearly a year back, hasn’t really taken off. On the positive side, TVS has been strengthening its iQube electric scooter portfolio, with variants that can compete effectively with any other scooter in the market. Hopefully, we see some new exciting products from TVS once again that make the riding experience all the more enjoyable and not focus on the frilly features front that much.
