However, on a year-to-date basis, Hero’s sales have dropped by 10.95%.

Hero MotoCorp’s sales rose by a 10.03% in June 2025 wherein the brand cumulatively retailed 5,53,963 units bikes and scooters, as against the 5,03,448 units it did in June 2024. Out of the cumulative total, 5,12,658 units were motorcycles, while 41,305 units were scooters. The brand’s domestic performance also improved by 6.86% last month, but its export business grew by a whopping 139.59% with 28,827 units exported, compared to the 12,032 units it exported last year, in the same month.

On the other hand, Hero’s motorcycle sales might have grown by 8.33%, but it's scooter sales increased by a whopping 36.68% last month, with 41,305 units retailed, compared to the 30,220 units it retailed last year, in the same month. This spur in sales momentum can be partly owing to the new scooters that Hero launched in the past few months. From the new Destini 125 Xtec to the Xoom 125 and Xoom 160 – while deliveries for the last model is yet to start, this sales growth should be encouraging for Hero nonetheless.

We are eagerly waiting for deliveries of the Hero Xoom 160 to start.

But despite the 10% year-on-year sales growth, Hero’s year-to-date cumulative sales have simultaneously plummeted by 10.95% with 13,67,070 units sold so far from April to June, compared to the 15,35,156 units it sold in the same period last year. And when you compare Honda’s sales figures during the same period, which stands at 13,75,120 units, it’s just 0.59% more for the Indian two-wheeler manufacturers, and that should ring the alarm bells at Hero. However with respect to monthly sales, Hero outperformed Honda by a huge margin.

Moving forward, Hero should expect its scooter sales is expected to further gain momentum. Aside from the new ICE-powered models, the brand also expanded its all-electric portfolio with the introduction of the Vida VX2. It debuted the brand's Battery-As-A-Service subscription model, which has helped price it really affordably at ₹54,490 (ex-showroom, Delhi). To know more about the Vida VX2, head to the link here.  We recently rode the Hero Xoom 125, and were left pretty impressed. To find out what caught our attention the most, check out out first ride review below:

Aside from scooters, Hero also has a few exciting motorcycles slated for launch later this year. From the bigger Hero Karizma XMR 250, to its first 400 cc ADV bike, the XPulse 421. The latter is slated to be a proper adventure tourer which will take the competition against the likes of the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and the KTM 390 Adventure range – both of which have so far dominated the sub-500 cc ADV segment in the country. Will Hero be able to surpass this duo with  the XPulse 421, is something that we are eagerly waiting to find out, and ride as well.
