Suzuki also registered its highest-ever sales of more than 11 lakh units during the financial year 2023-24.
Continuing with its upward sales growth, Suzuki has closed the 2023-24 financial year yet again on a high note. The marque retailed a total of 1,03,669 units in March 2024, which is a 6.2 per cent growth in sales compared to March 2023 when Suzuki sold 97,584 units only. In the domestic market alone Suzuki registered 18 per cent growth by closing at 86,164 units last month, compared to 73,069 units in March 2023.
Export figures were not that impressive though and Suzuki closed at 17,505 units in March ‘24 compared to 24,515 units in March 23’. But more importantly, for the first time in India, Suzuki has crossed the 11 lakh mark. The brand retailed a total of 11,33,902 units in the period between March 2023 to March 2024. This is a 21 per cent sales growth compared to FY2022-23 when the marque retailed a total of 9,38,371 units.
Several engagements and events helped Suzuki gain some crucial traction for its sales. For example, events like Suzuki Matsuri, Access Mileage, and V-Strom experience saw customer engagement that helped further encourage its sales, the company stated in the press release. The addition of new dealerships in multiple states including Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, and Punjab further helped catapult sales.
The launch of the much-awaited V-Strom 800DE was another major development for the brand. Bringing in some breath of fresh air, the 800 cc adventure bike will further help revive Suzuki’s presence in the middle-weight segment, where the brand had almost become non-existent with the aging V-Strom 650 XT.
