Honda reported a small 3.21 percent MoM decline in sales in March 2026.
Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) reported total sales of 5,49,145 units in March 2026, according to its latest press release. That included 5,12,303 units in domestic sales and 36,842 units in exports. The company said the month helped it close FY26 with total sales of 63,69,504 units, comprising 57,49,275 units in domestic sales and 6,20,229 units in exports. This resulted in a 9 percent growth in comparison to FY25, reflecting steady demand across both domestic and export markets.
On a year-on-year (YoY) basis, sales in March 2026 were comfortably ahead of March 2025. HMSI sold 5,49,145 units in March 2026, compared to 4,27,448 units in March 2025. That translates into an increase of 1,21,697 units or a 29 percent YoY growth.

The growth suggests that HMSI entered the final month of FY26 with stronger volume momentum than it had a year earlier. In a market where monthly performance can swing with festival timing, inventory cycles and retail sentiment, a near 29 percent rise is a solid result, even if it is not especially surprising for a major two-wheeler brand with a broad commuter-led portfolio.

The month-on-month (MoM) comparison tells a slightly different story. HMSI’s February 2026 total sales stood at 5,67,351 units which included domestic sales of 5,13,190 units and exports of 54,161 units. Compared with that, March 2026 sales of 5,49,145 units were lower by 18,206 units, resulting in a MoM decline of 3.21 percent.
That does not weaken the overall picture much, because March still stayed well above the corresponding month last year. In practical terms, HMSI finished the fiscal year with a strong annual base, but the immediate monthly momentum eased slightly after February’s higher run rate. Taken together, the figures point to a company that ended FY26 in good shape. YoY growth remained robust, while the MoM dip appears manageable rather than concerning.
