The company sold 52,431 SUVs in the domestic market, registering a 21% growth over the 43,218 units sold in May 2024 including exports.
Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. reported robust sales figures for May 2025, driven primarily by sustained consumer demand in the SUV segment. The company recorded total vehicle sales of 84,110 units, reflecting a 17% year-on-year growth compared to May 2024. This includes both domestic and export volumes across passenger and commercial vehicle categories.
Mahindra’s core strength in the utility vehicle (UV) segment continued to yield strong results. The company sold 52,431 SUVs in the domestic market, registering a 21% growth over the 43,218 units sold in May 2024 including exports, total UV sales stood at 54,819 units. On a fiscal year-to-date (YTD) basis, Mahindra has sold 104,761 utility vehicles domestically in FY26 so far, a 24% increase compared to 84,226 units during the same period in FY25.

This growth underscores the sustained demand for Mahindra’s flagship models such as the Scorpio-N, XUV700, Thar, and Bolero Neo, with the portfolio benefiting from a strong customer pull across both urban and rural markets. In the commercial vehicle (CV) segment, domestic sales were a mixed bag. The LCV <2T category saw a decline of 18% YoY, with sales dropping to 2,580 units from 3,156 units in May 2024. This downward trend extended to the YTD performance as well, which contracted by 20%.
However, Mahindra’s LCV (2–3.5T) segment—its most critical CV category—posted a 14% growth, with 17,718 units sold in May 2025, compared to 15,587 units a year earlier. YTD sales for this segment reached 36,859 units, an 11% growth YoY.

The LCV >3.5T and MHCV category remained largely stable, with marginal YoY growth of 1% in May and 5% YTD. Meanwhile, the three-wheeler segment, including electric variants, saw 11% growth in May to 6,635 units, supported by rising adoption of last-mile electric mobility solutions.
Mahindra’s exports also contributed positively to the overall performance. The company shipped 3,652 units in May 2025, marking a strong 37% increase over 2,671 units exported in May 2024. On a fiscal YTD basis, exports have surged 55%, rising from 4,528 units to 7,033 units.
