Auto Sales September 2023: Hyundai Achieves Highest Ever Monthly Sales

Hyundai Motor India has marked a significant milestone by achieving its highest-ever total monthly sales in September 2023, recording a total of 71,641 units. Breaking down the figures, HMIL's domestic sales reached 54,241 units in September 2023, reflecting a substantial year-on-year growth of 9.13 per cent compared to the same month in the previous year. This surge in domestic sales can be attributed to the strong momentum generated by the ongoing festive season, which traditionally sees increased consumer interest in purchasing vehicles.

Tarun Garg, COO, Hyundai Motor India Ltd. said, “SUVs now contribute to more than 65 per cent of our domestic sales. The enduring love and admiration by Indian customers for Brand Hyundai is a reflection of the benchmark set by our products in terms of safety & feature integration.”

One of the driving forces has been Hyundai's robust SUV portfolio, which continues to garner positive attention from consumers. The recent launch of the Hyundai Exter has received well from customers, further contributing to the company's sales success. SUVs now account for over 65 per cent of Hyundai's domestic sales, underlining the popularity and demand for these vehicles among Indian consumers.

In addition to its domestic sales performance, HMIL also excelled in the export market, with 17,400 units shipped overseas in September 2023. This marked an impressive year-on-year growth rate of 28.87 per cent, showcasing the brand's global appeal and the quality of its products.
