Auto Sales September 2024: Suzuki’s Sales Increases Marginally

After a positive start to the current fiscal year, Suzuki’s sales seem to have now taken a dip. Last month, in September, the Indian arm of the Japanese manufacturer retailed a total of 99,185 units in both domestic and exports, which translated to a small 1 per cent year-on-year growth. 

Making matters slightly tricky was the fact that Suzuki’s domestic sales declined last month by 7.86 per cent. The brand retailed 77,263 two-wheelers last month, compared to the 88,856 units it retailed in the same month, last year. However, exports have improved by a large margin, with Suzuki India exporting 21,922 units last month. This is a massive 55 per cent jump over last year’s September export figures, which stood at 14,138 units. 

However, things are expected to improve for Suzuki in the coming months. The brand is already finalising the new Access 125, with test mules of the upcoming scooter being spotted multiple times now on public roads. It has also expand its premium bike portfolio with the launch of the new GSX-8R.
