TVS Motor Company reported that it sold 5,41,064 units in September 2025, marking a 12% year-on-year increase over the 4,82,495 units sold in September 2024. This strong sales growth follows August's record-breaking performance when TVS crossed the five lakh monthly sales milestone for the first time with 5,09,536 units.
Two-wheeler sales in September reached 5,23,923 units, an 11% year-on-year increase from 4,71,792 units in September 2024. Domestic two-wheeler sales grew 12% to 4,13,279 units compared to 3,69,138 units in the same month last year. However, this represented a 12% decline from August's domestic two-wheeler sales of 3,68,862 units.
Motorcycles contributed 2,49,621 units in September – a 9% year-on-year increase but 12% lower than August's 2,21,870 units. Scooters performed better with 2,18,928 units sold, marking 17% year-on-year growth, though this was marginally below August's strong performance of 2,22,296 units.
The electric vehicle segment sold 31,266 units in September 2025, representing 8% year-on-year growth over 28,901 units in September 2024. This marked a 24% improvement over August's 25,138 units. However, the company noted that magnet availability continues to pose challenges for the EV business in the short to medium term.
TVS Motor's international operations remained robust, with total exports growing 10% year-on-year to 1,22,108 units in September 2025 compared to 1,11,007 units in September 2024. Two-wheeler exports specifically increased 8% to 1,10,644 units from 1,02,654 units last year. However, September's export performance was down 10% from August's impressive 1,35,367 units. For Q2 overall, total exports registered strong 30% growth, increasing from 3.09 lakh units to 4.00 lakh units year-on-year.
The second quarter of financial year 2025-26 proved to be TVS Motor's strongest ever, with total sales reaching 15.07 lakh units. Two-wheeler sales in Q2 grew 22% to 14.54 lakh units, whilst three-wheelers surged 41% to 0.53 lakh units compared to the same period last year.
