The top honchos of both Bajaj Auto Ltd. and Chetak Technology Ltd. have been changed.
In its bid to accelerate technological innovation and further strengthen its position in the existing and emerging mobility markets (electric mobility as well), Bajaj Auto has made some key changes to its upper management level.
As part of this change, Abraham Joseph has been appointed as the new managing director of Chetak Technology Ltd (CTL).; and Ramtilak Ananthan is the new Chief Technology Officer of Bajaj Auto Ltd (BAL).
Joseph has joined CTL after a successful stint with BAL. He has been instrumental in leading the development of the most popular Bajaj motorcycle, the Pulsar family. Additionally, he has also overseen the production of Platina, CT, Boxer, Discover, V, Avenger, and Dominar. During his tenure, key partnerships with KTM and Triumph also took place.

In CTL, Joseph will further strengthen the company’s position as a high-tech organisation and will work on developing core competecencies across the spectrum of different automotive technologies. It will also explore the potential of hydrogen vehicles, which in all probability will take shape in the form of collaboration with emerging players in the mobility market.
On the other hand, Ramtilak Ananthan has been appointed as the CTO of Bajaj Auto Ltd after having served as the Head of R&D. He has been associated with the company since 1994, and throughout his tenure he has been involved in various aspects of design and development, particularly with regards to engine platforms. He was also instrumental during Bajaj Auto Ltd. transition to BS4 and BS6 norms.
