The Bajaj Chetak 2901 priced under ₹ 1 lakh (ex-showroom)caters to budget-conscious buyers seeking a stylish and practical electric scooter. If you're considering the Chetak 2901, you're getting a scooter with a familiar brand name at a lower price tag. The colours are bright and flashy and the features set is decent. It can be further enhanced with an optional TechPac. If you are going for this scooter only because it's a reputed brand offering a scooter under ₹ 1 lakh then here are some of the other options from reputed electric scooter brands in the Indian market.

Ola S1X

Ola S1X  takes the crown for the most affordable electric scooter on this list. Starting at a very attractive ₹ 70,000 (ex-showroom), it comes in three variants with varying battery packs offering an IDC range of 95 km to 190 km on a single charge.

The Ola S1X offers multiple battery options, 2 kWh, 3 kWh and 4 kWh with IDC range options of 95 km, 151 km and 193 km. It's got a decent 2.7kW motor propelling all variants to a top speed of 90 kmph. The design is kept simple with dual-tone colours and blacked-out wheels, likely to keep the price down. Both front and rear brakes are drum brakes, a cost-saving measure that may compromise stopping power.

The unbeatable price point, especially for the base variant, is the biggest highlight of the Ola S1X. The excellent range options and good top speed make it a compelling choice. We recommend going for the 4 kWh variant as it offers the highest range at the lowest price on all of Ola’s portfolio.

TVS iQube

The TVS iQube offers a comfortable and practical alternative for everyday commutes. It strikes a good balance between practicality and features. TVS offers 5 variants on the iQube and the most affordable is the one which is priced below ₹ 1 lakh. It comes with a 2.2kW motor and has a real-world range of 75 km.

The other options are priced higher and have a 100+ km range. They also come loaded with different features for connected tech and more colour options.  The TVS iQube's strengths lie in its comfort for everyday commutes and user-friendly operation. The pricing-to-range ratio is high but that is only because the range figures are real word range and not IDC range.

Ather 450S

This is the base model of the 450 series from Ather. This gets an IDC range of 115 km with a battery pack of 2.9 kWh. The motor has a 5.4 kWh peak power and a top speed of 90 kmph. The Ather 450S caters to riders who prioritise a sporty and feature-rich electric scooter experience.

4

The Ather 450S has a sharp design with sculpted lines, giving it a sporty look. It comes loaded with features like a touchscreen instrument cluster, onboard diagnostics, and multiple riding modes. However, it comes at a higher price point at ₹ 1,25,599 compared to the Chetak and Ola S1X, and the range falls short of the Ola S1X with the largest battery pack.
