Bajaj is reportedly working on introducing a new iteration of the Chetak. Slated to be called Chetak 3001, this upcoming model will slot below the Chetak 3503 variants. While we are yet to confirm if this will be a new variant addition or replace the existing 2903 trim or not – whichever be the case, the upcoming Chetak is expected to be powered by a 3 kWh battery paired to a 3.1 kW electric motor.

Performance figures are also under wraps, but given that the Chetak 2903 can do 123 km of IDC claimed range, we expect the upcoming Chetak 3001 trim to boast a similar respectable range. The top speed might also be capped at around 65 kmph, which should make it ideal for urban commutes.
Feature-wise, Bajaj might cut a few corners to keep the asking price of the Chetak 3001 under check. However, we expect it to feature a fully digital LCD console which should support some of the basic connectivity features like call/SMS and notification alerts. As for design, Bajaj might carry forward the same body design as has been consistent with the electric Chetaks over the years.

Pricing-wise, Bajaj is expected to pitch the upcoming Chetak 3001 trim at around the ₹1 lakh mark. Therefore, its competitors will include other affordable variants of the TVS iQube, Ola S1 X, and the Ather Riztas. But will the Bajaj Chetak 3001 undercut the asking price of its competitors or not, remains to be seen.
