The world’s first production CNG motorcycle has received over 30,000 enquiries.
Bajaj Auto announced today that bookings for its CNG motorcycle have commenced across the country. At the time of its launch, a few weeks back, the Bajaj Freedom 125 CNG bike was only available on sale in Maharashtra and Gujarat. It seems as if Bajaj Auto had taken a very conservative approach with its new CNG motorcycle, however the Freedom 25 has received over 30,000 enquiries and this gave the company the confidence to expand its sales across the nation.

The first Bajaj Freedom 125 was also delivered to Pravin Thorat in Pune. The CNG bike is offered in three variants with prices starting at ₹95,000, however, currently only the top-end variant priced at ₹1.10 lakh (all prices are ex-showroom) is currently on sale. Bajaj claims that the Freedom 125 can deliver 100km/kg of CNG and 65 kmpl in petrol mode thereby resulting in an overall claimed range of 330 km. Given that CNG prices are much cheaper than petrol prices and the higher mileage in CNG mode, Bajaj claims that the Freedom 125 has half the running cost of an equivalent petrol motorcycle. Apart from being frugal, the Bajaj CNG bike is also less harmful to the environment with 26.7% less CO2 emissions. You can find all the details of the Bajaj Freedom 125 in our road test video below.
Speaking about the new announcement, Sarang Kanade, President of Motorcycles, Bajaj Auto Ltd said, "The Bajaj Freedom 125 launch has generated almost unprecedented consumer interest in this innovation, which helps deliver significant operating cost savings as well as a greener ride as compared to traditional petrol bikes. We are working hard to ensure that we meet this demand by expanding distribution rapidly across our expansive dealer network. Booking is now open across the country”,
