Benelli is expanding its Chinese lineup with the introduction of the Leoncino Bobber 400. This is a new entrant into the cruiser segment. Unveiled at the 2024 Beijing International Motorcycle Exhibition, this motorcycle caters to those who are looking for a stylish and easy-to-manage cruiser and also riders who appreciate the timeless design.
Benelli Leoncino Bobber 400 draws inspiration from classic cruisers. It boasts a muscular stance with a low seat and wide handlebars. A rectangular LED headlight leads the charge, flanked by sleek indicators and bar-end mirrors. The sculpted fuel tank and chunky dual exhaust pipes complete the cruiser look. Chopped fenders and 16-inch alloy wheels with chunky tyres add a touch of aggression.
Despite its retro flair, the Benelli Leoncino Bobber 400 isn't stuck in the past. It features a circular digital instrument console for a clean and informative display. An external air intake with a unique transparent air filter housing on the right adds a touch of modern flair. The bike also comes equipped with a belt drive for a smooth and maintenance-free ride.
The Benelli Leoncino Bobber 400 packs a punch with its 385cc, liquid-cooled, V-twin engine. This power plant produces 35.4 bhp and is paired with a 6-speed gearbox. While the top speed is claimed to be 152 kmph, the engine is likely tuned for relaxed cruising rather than outright speed. The character of the bike should make it ideal for cruising and providing smooth acceleration from a stop.
The Benelli Leoncino Bobber 400 has a dry weight of 170kg, making it a manageable machine for new riders. It gets a USD fork and twin rear shock absorbers complete the cruiser-like low stance. Braking duties are handled by disc brakes on both wheels with dual-channel ABS for added safety.
The Benelli Leoncino Bobber 400 is expected to launch in the Chinese market in the coming months. There's no official word on a global launch yet, but considering its potential, an international debut might be on the horizon. However, as of now, its arrival in India seems unlikely.
