The BGauss RUV350 will be available across 120+ dealerships in India.
Production for BGauss’ debut product, the RUV350, has commenced at its manufacturing facility in Chakan on the outskirts of Pune. The electric scooter is priced from ₹1.10 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards and is spread across three variants – RUV350i EX, RUV350, RUV350 Max - was launched in June.
Speaking on the occasion of this announcement, Hemant Kabra, founder and managing director of BGauss, commented, “We are confident that the RUV350 will set a new standard in the electric two-wheeler segment and play a pivotal role in advancing cleaner, more efficient urban transportation.”
The BGauss RUV350 is powered by a 3 kWh battery that is good for a claimed range of 135 km in Eco mode. However, this range is available with the top-spec RUV350 Max, while the base and mid-spec RUV350 can travel up to 90 km in real-world conditions. Additionally, BGauss is offering the RUV350 with the advantage of three charger options – 500W, 840W, and 1350W – the charging timing details of which you can find here.
But one of the major key highlights of the RUV350 is its in-house patented in-wheel hyperdrive. This unique technology replaces the conventional side-mounted motor or hub-motor setup found in electric scooters for an external motor attached to the rear wheel directly. BGauss claims that its patented technology not just aids in efficient packaging but also reduces any power loss. The power output of this motor is rated at 3.5 kW but the top speed is restricted across all variants at 75 kmph.
At the time of launch, BGauss had also introduced a limited-time offer for benefits worth ₹20,000. This package gave you access to BGConnect worth ₹8,000 that unlocked features like remote diagnostic and vehicle tracking. Additionally, the BGauss was also offering extended warranty worth ₹6,000 and free insurance coverage of ₹6,000.
‘RUV, which translates to ‘Rugged Utility Vehicle,’ competes in the heavily populated electric scooter segment, which also includes the Ather Rizta and 450S, the TVS iQube, and the recently launched Bajaj Chetak 2901.
