This incident sparks charity announcement
A powerful shot by Ellyse Perry during a Women's Premier League match turned heads for more than just its impressive distance. Her six sailed over the boundary and smashed the rear window of a Tata Punch EV, a car displayed by the tournament sponsor.

This wasn't just a random occurrence. Cricket fans have been waiting for such a moment since the league's inception, and it finally happened! Back in 2019, a ball hit a different Tata car displayed during a match, but it didn't even crack the windshield. Perry's six, however, made history.
Perry herself, ever the sport, even poked fun at the situation afterwards, joking, "I was a bit worried. I'm not sure I have insurance over here to cover me. So in a bit of strife there."
Interestingly, Tata had previously announced a charitable initiative: every time a player hits their display car during a match, they would donate βΉ5,00,000 towards a worthy cause. Staying true to their word, Tata Motors will be contributing this amount towards the installation of solar panels at TATA Memorial Hospital, Kolkata, in collaboration with Tata Power.
This incident, while unusual, became a positive moment for both cricket and charity. Perry's impressive batting helped her team win the match, and Tata Motors' commitment to their promise will have a positive impact on the hospital.

Adding to this, a tweet from a sports enthusiast went viral, stating: "Not the first time Ellyse Perry has smashed the window of a vehicle parked at the ground with a six." This tweet, referencing a previous incident, was then quoted by the official account of Australian Women's Cricket, who shared an image of the broken car window with the caption: "Not the first time, won't be the last..." This exchange added another layer of amusement to the unusual event.
