The Concept RR is the blueprint of how BMW will design its future superbike.
Every year, BMW Motorrad showcases something special or the other at the Concorso d'Eleganza at Lake Como. The latest creation that was showcased in all glory is the new Concept RR. It represents the Bavarian’ earliest preview of upcoming RR model generations. As was put by Markus Flasch, Head of BMW Motorrad, “The BMW Motorrad Concept RR is a true masterpiece of our development team, both technically and in terms of design language.” What's more? The bike is inspired by the brand’s superbike M 1000 RR, which BMW Motorrad factory rider Toprak Razgatlioğlu dominated the FIM World Superbike Championship last year.
So, the Concept RR features a water-cooled inline four-cylinder engine producing over 230 bhp, derived from the World Championship-winning machine. Electronic systems including engine management, traction control, and engine braking are also transferred directly from the WSBK M 1000 RR.

Being a superbike, weight reduction was one of the key areas where BMW had to focus on. Thereby, using carbon fibre and aluminium construction have helped optimised every component for lightweight performance. The aerodynamic package has been tweaked here and instead of those massive aero-winglets that we’ve seen on M 1000 RR, the Concept RR gets integrated winglets. The front section further boasts of ventilated sections, and a streamlined bodywork designed that BMW says can be for both road and racing use.
Another key aspect that BMW achieved with this new sharp design was in high-speed stability, maximum cornering performance. The compact design further aids for reduced air resistance and improves the airflow around the bike.

Lastly, BMW has also developed the Concept RR LTD jacket, limited to 50 units worldwide. It's a premium garment made out of calf Nappa leather construction, produced with traditional Bavarian manufacturer MEINDL.
The BMW Concept RR shows the brands strategy of transferring racing technology directly to road-going motorcycles, emphasising the company's continued involvement in various national and international motorcycle racing championships.
