The much-anticipated BMW F 450 GS will be launched in India soon.

The BMW F 450 GS is among the big ticket launches of 2026 and Indian bikers have been awaiting keenly ever since its production-spec version was unveiled at EICMA 2025 in Italy. In fact few BMW Motorrad dealerships in India had even begun accepting unofficial bookings for the bike. In an exclusive interaction with Acko Drive, Hardeep Brar, President & CEO, BMW Group India mentioned “We will be launching the BMW F 450 GS in the first half of the year and there has been a lot of excitement for the bike and people have been looking forward to the new launch.” The above leads us to believe that the F 450 GS will be making its India debut by March, 2026. He also added that the BMW G 310 RR will remain on sale while the G 310 R and the G 310 GS have been discontinued with the G 310 RR being slotted as the entry-level bike in the BMW Motorrad India portfolio.

The F 450 GS is the replacement for the BMW G 310 GS in the brand’s lineup. Powering the motorcycle is an all-new 420 cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine producing 48 bhp at 8,750 rpm and 43 Nm of torque at 6,750 rpm. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox, featuring a slipper clutch and bi-directional quickshifter as standard. Compared to the outgoing single-cylinder G 310 GS, the twin-cylinder setup promises improved refinement, stronger performance, and better cruising ability at highway speeds—key for touring-focused riders.

The production version of the BMW F 450 GS retains the trellis frame as seen on the concept model. Suspension duties are handled by USD front fork and a rear monoshock, both offering 180 mm of travel, making it well-suited for mild off-road use. Despite its ADV credentials, the bike remains lightweight, with a kerb weight of just 175 kg. It rides on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels, shod with dual-purpose tyres.

The BMW F 450 GS will be manufactured by TVS Motor Company at its Hosur facility, continuing the successful BMW-TVS partnership. Details regarding India-spec variants and feature loadouts are still under wraps. In terms of pricing, the BMW F 450 GS is expected to be priced between ₹5 lakh and ₹5.5 lakh (ex-showroom), making it a strong contender in the mid-capacity adventure motorcycle segment when it finally launches in India.
