The BMW F 450 GS will be the new entry-level offering in the German bikemaker's portfolio.

The BMW F 450 GS is among the big-ticket launches of 2025 and the concept was showcased at the Bharat Mobility show earlier this year. The new motorcycle will be the long-awaited replacement for the BMW G 310 GS and will be manufactured by TVS Motor just as we had seen with the G 310 family. While we are still a few months away from the production-spec motorcycle being unveiled some interesting details have been revealed. According to reports, BMW will be offering ASA (Automated Shift Assistant) gearbox or in simpler language semi-automatic transmission. The F 450 GS will come with a 6-speed manual transmission as standard and the semi-automatic will be offered as an option in the top-end variant. With this new transmission, riders can ride the upcoming ADV as an automatic or also shift gears using buttons on the handlebars.

The F 450 GS could be the first motorcycle in its category to get this semi-automatic transmission.

If BMW does introduce this technology on the F 450 GS, it will be the first motorcycle in its category to get this feature. The Honda Africa Twin was one of the first production ADV motorcycles to be equipped with a semi-automatic gearbox. As predicted by us, the launch of the new BMW motorcycle was also confirmed for late 2025 after it makes its global debut at the 2025 EICMA motorcycle show in Milan, Italy. As seen on the concept bike, the styling of the baby BMW ADV is based on the flagship BMW R 1300 GS and it does look very sporty. While the concept bike was running on spoke wheels, the test mules were seen riding on alloy wheels hinting that the ADV bike will be offered in multiple variants.

The 450 cc twin-cylinder engine will deliver 47 bhp.

BMW hasn’t divulged many details about the bike but we know for sure that the 450cc, liquid-cooled, twin-cylinder engine will deliver 47 bhp and the bike will weigh 145 kg. From the spy shots, we can also confirm that it will get a TFT screen, multiple ride modes, traction control and also switchable ABS. The BMW F 450 GS will be manufactured by TVS Motor in Hosur and we expect it to go on sale with a sticker price of around ₹4.50 lakh to ₹4.80 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
