The naked sport derivative of the F 450 GS is just around the corner.
BMW Motorrad is set to launch the new F 450 R globally on October 1 evening. Positioned alongside the F 450 GS, the roadster serves as a key addition to the brand's new 450 family.
The arrival follows the discontinuation of the G 310 R and G 310 GS models in the Indian market, where the G 310 RR currently continues as the sole remaining sub-400 cc offering.
Teased ahead of its official debut, the F 450 R showcases a muscular fuel tank, a compact rear section, and a sharp tail design. Its ergonomics are tailored for street riding, featuring an upright handlebar, seat, and footpeg layout engineered for roadster dynamics.
Additional visual elements revealed include an upside-down front fork, alloy wheels wrapped in road-biased tyres, disc brakes at both ends, and an underbody exhaust layout.
Powering the bike will most likely be the same 420 cc parallel-twin engine found in the F 450 GS, which develops 47.3 bhp and 43 Nm of torque paired with a 6-speed transmission.
While it remains to be seen if the F 450 R will feature BMW's Easy Ride Clutch system, the motorcycle is expected to receive a revised chassis setup with shorter suspension travel optimised for its lower, street-focused stance.
