In the third quarter (July–September), BMW Group India achieved its highest-ever Q3 sales of 4,204 vehicles.
BMW Group India has recorded its best-ever sales of 11,978 cars in the first nine months of 2025, marking a 13% year-on-year rise over the same period last year. This robust performance underlines BMW’s continued momentum in India’s luxury car market, driven by a strong product portfolio, expanding dealer network, and growing demand for electric vehicles.
In the third quarter (July–September), BMW Group India achieved its highest-ever Q3 sales of 4,204 vehicles, boosted by the introduction of new GST pricing and the festive season surge. Electric models further reinforced BMW’s leadership, with 2,509 EVs delivered between January and September—a remarkable 246% year-on-year increase—making BMW the number one choice for luxury electric cars in India. Long-wheelbase variants (7 Series, 5 Series, 3 Series, iX1 LWB) collectively grew by 169% year-on-year, accounting for 50% of total volumes.
Mercedes-Benz India
Mercedes-Benz India sold 9,013 units in the first half of calendar 2025 (January–June), a 2.7% dip against H1 2024 amid macroeconomic headwinds. However, the brand bounced back with its highest-ever Q3 (July–September) sales, retailing 5,119 cars following GST 2.0 reforms and buoyant Navratri demand. On a combined Jan–Sep basis, this implies approximately 14,132 units, positioning Mercedes-Benz slightly ahead of BMW in overall volumes but trailing in EV market share.
Audi India reported 3,197 retail sales for January–September 2025, achieving steady performance despite geopolitical pressures and currency headwinds. The brand’s certified pre-owned programme grew by 5%, with 26 Audi Approved: plus facilities across India. Audi expects a festive-season uplift powered by GST benefits and new product launches, but its nine-month volumes remain well below BMW and Mercedes-Benz levels.
Volvo Auto India has not yet released its January–September 2025 sales figures. While the global Volvo Group reported a 7% sales decline in Q1 2025, local retail numbers for the luxury car arm are pending. Historically, Volvo’s Indian retail volumes have trailed the three German marques, owing to a narrower model line-up and later EV roll-out.
