Particularly interesting was how BMW’s premium bike portfolio performed in 2024.
BMW Motorrad reported that it sold 8,301 motorcycles in our country in 2024. Out of which, more than 50 per cent of those sales came between July to December 2024, during which the brand retailed 4,687 units. Particularly interesting was how the brand’s premium bike portfolio performed this year, which saw its best-ever annual sales performance with 1,041 units sold.
While the launch of the BMW CE 04 grabbed quite the attention last year, not just for its looks but for that hefty price tag of ₹14.90 Lakh. BMW Motorrad also rode in the “ Big Daddy of ADVs” the latest R 1300 GS to India at ₹20.95 lakh, along with two more adventure bikes – the F 900 GS and F 900 GS Adventure – at ₹13.75 lakh & ₹14.75 lakh, respectively.
While BMW was adventurous during the latter part of the year. The brand chose to be classy at the start of the year by bringing in the retro roadster duo – the R 12 and the R 12 nineT. Both bikes were launched in the country at ₹19.90 lakh and ₹20.90 lakh (all prices mentioned are ex-showroom, Delhi).
But alongside these slew of launches, BMW also updated its entry-level bikes, the G 310 RR, with new colour options. On the other hand, while the BMW G 310 GS was largely left untouched, at the end of 2024, the adventure bike was available with a flat discount of ₹50,000.
Moving forward, BMW Motorrad will quite the eventful year. Particularly interesting to us will be the new F 450 GS. The bike was showcased last year at the EICMA 2024, which in turn also debuted a brand new parallel-twin engine with 450 cc capacity. This adventure bike will be developed in collaboration with TVS Motor Company, and the same is expected to make its way to India as well. But before that, BMW will be bringing in the R 1300 GS Adventure, and the first teaser has already been released. To know more about the ultimate GS in BMW’s portfolio, head to the link here.
