BMW Motorrad's updated hyper-naked motorcycle arrives with increased power output and advanced rider assistance technology across all dealerships nationwide.
BMW has introduced the updated S 1000 R hyper-naked bike to India, priced at ₹19.90 lakh (ex-showroom) on an introductory basis. The German manufacturer will import this hyper-naked roadster as a fully assembled unit and bookings for the same have also commenced across all BMW Motorrad showrooms throughout India.
The 2025 BMW S 1000 R is powered by a 999 cc inline-four engine producing 170 bhp at 11,000 rpm and 114 Nm at 9,250 rpm, representing a 5-bhp increase over the previous model. Performance figures include a 0-100 km/h sprint time of 3.2 seconds and an electronically governed maximum speed of 250 km/h. BMW offers an optional M Endurance chain with modified gearing ratios to enhance acceleration while reducing maintenance requirements.
The BMW S 1000 R showcases BMW's distinctive naked bike styling through its aggressive split-face LED headlamps, angular bodywork and stripped-down proportions emphasised by sporting accents. Updates include a redesigned rear section featuring a compact number plate mount and integrated brake/tail light functions within the LED indicators. Three colour options are available: standard Blackstorm Metallic, Bluefire/Mugiallo Yellow with Style Sport package, and exclusive Light White Uni with M Motorsport livery limited to the M package. Standard equipment encompasses a 6.5-inch colour TFT instrument cluster with smartphone integration, turn-by-turn navigation through BMW's mobile application, and USB charging capability. Safety systems include Headlight Pro with daytime running lights, six-axis sensor technology enabling ABS Pro and dynamic traction management, engine braking control, hill start assistance, and three riding modes covering rain, road and dynamic conditions.
BMW provides several optional packages to enhance the riding experience, with the Dynamic Package adding damping control, advanced riding modes, quickshifter functionality and aerodynamic spoiler. The Comfort Package introduces keyless operation, cruise control, heated grips and tyre pressure monitoring, whilst the flagship M Sport package delivers motorsport styling, specialised seating, lightweight battery, performance exhaust, M Endurance chain, GPS lap timing and premium wheel options. Standard specifications include a 199kg kerb weight (196kg with M package), 830mm seat height, 1,447mm wheelbase and 16.5-litre fuel capacity with 4-litre reserve. The motorcycle rides on aluminium cast wheels fitted with 120/70 ZR 17 front and 190/55 ZR 17 rear tyres, with 200/55 ZR 17 rear option available on M variants. BMW supports ownership through a three-year unlimited mileage warranty extendable to five years, nationwide roadside assistance, and flexible financing solutions covering accessories and riding equipment.
