Bowers & Wilkins launches Px8 S2 McLaren Edition headphones with Anthracite Grey-Papaya finish, upgraded 40mm Carbon Cones, improved ANC and 30-hour battery.
British audio brand Bowers & Wilkins has launched the Px8 S2 McLaren Edition wireless headphones in collaboration with McLaren Automotive and the McLaren Formula 1 Team. The new model is the third headphone to emerge from the ongoing partnership between the two companies.
The Px8 S2 McLaren Edition features an Anthracite Grey finish with Papaya orange accents, along with subtle Speedmark details on the headband and earcups. The design incorporates diamond-cut metal logo plates and Nappa leather on the headband and ear cushions.
Technically, the headphones include upgraded 40 mm Carbon Cone drive units with revised chassis, voice coil, suspension, and magnet systems. The drivers are angled towards the listener for improved imaging.
The model also comes with updated noise-cancellation technology and supports Qualcomm aptX Adaptive and aptX Lossless codecs for 24-bit/96 kHz wireless streaming.
Battery life is rated at up to 30 hours on a single charge, with a 15-minute quick charge providing an additional seven hours of playback. Controls and settings, including a five-band equaliser, are managed through the Bowers & Wilkins Music app.
Priced at £729 in the UK, €829 in Europe, and $899 in the United States, the Px8 S2 McLaren Edition is available from 19 November through the Bowers & Wilkins website and select retailers. India launch details of this product remain unknown.
The launch follows the earlier Pi8 McLaren Edition earbuds released this year and continues the decade-long association that began with Bowers & Wilkins supplying audio systems for McLaren road cars since 2015.
