Brixton Motorcycles announces that it will be present in India by the festive season, by targeting the popular ADV Segment
Austrian motorcycling brand Brixton Motorcycles has announced that it is keen to expand its footprint by arriving in India.. Partnering with KAW Veloce Motors (KVMPL) for manufacturing, distribution, and sales, Brixton aims to bring its European design sensibilities to Indian riders.
Internationally, Brixton offers a bunch of motorcycles that have classic motorcycle designs. They have upto 14 different models catering to a wide range of riders. Engine options span a broad spectrum, from beginner-friendly 125cc singles perfect for city environments to the pavement-eating behemoth, the 1200cc Cromwell. This cafe racer has a brute of a 1,222cc twin-cylinder engine and is the largest motorcycle of their lineup. It produces 83 bhp at 6,550 rpm and 108 Nm
Details regarding what models do arrive to our shores remains a mystery, but motorcycle enthusiasts can expect a measured rollout. Brixton plans to launch four motorcycles this year, all designed at their Austrian design centre. Production will take place at a new facility set up in Kolhapur, Maharashtra.
The first offering is expected to be an adventure bike. It would be slated for a festive season launch, catering to India's growing demand for ADV bikes. While specific models haven't been confirmed, Brixton hints at a long-term commitment including a possible establishment of a research and development centre in India, for motorcycles specifically designed for Indian tastes and road conditions.
This also holds the potential to position India as a strategic export hub for Brixton, targeting Southeast Asian and African markets. Building a robust dealer network is also a priority. Brixton plans to establish a presence in major Indian cities, with 15 dealerships opening by the end of 2024 and an expansion to 50 dealerships by the following year.
This would ensure easy service for riders and give them a sense of reliability. Else, it would just end up like several other foreign brands who have tried something similar and struggled to sell even a handful of bikes, like CFMoto.
