The newly introduced Dynamic and Premium variants complement the existing top-spec Superior variant.
BYD has significantly broadened its footprint in the Indian electric vehicle market by introducing two new variants of its popular Atto 3 electric crossover, making it more accessible than ever. With a strategic price cut of ₹9 lakh, the starting price of the BYD Atto 3 now starts at ₹24.99 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The newly introduced Dynamic and Premium variants complement the existing top-spec Superior variant.
Here's the updated pricing:
Variants | New Prices (ex-showroom, India) |
---|---|
Dynamic | ₹24.99 lakh |
Premium | ₹29.85 lakh |
Superior | ₹33.99 lakh |
Despite the more affordable price tags, the new variants retain much of the premium feel and feature set for which the Atto 3 is known. The base Dynamic variant foregoes advanced features like ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), an electric tailgate, multi-colour ambient lighting, and an 8-speaker sound system. The mid-spec Premium variant only lacks ADAS and adaptive headlights.
Even the base and mid-spec variants come with impressive features, ensuring buyers do not feel short-changed. Key features include a panoramic sunroof, 6-way powered driver seat, Electric ORVMs with heating, 12.8-inch infotainment system, Wireless phone charger, Automatic climate control and 360-degree camera.
In terms of safety, the new variants maintain a robust safety kit, excluding the ADAS features. This includes seven airbags, ABS with EBD, an electronic stability program, a tyre pressure monitoring system, ISOFIX mounts, and hill descent control.
While the top-spec Superior and mid-spec Premium variants share identical specifications, the base Dynamic variant features a smaller 49.92 kWh battery pack compared to the larger batteries in the higher trims. However, it retains the same 204PS/310Nm electric motor. The Dynamic variant offers an ARAI-claimed range of 468 km and achieves 0-100 kmph in 7.9 seconds, slightly slower than its higher-spec siblings.
Dynamic (NEW) | Premium (NEW)/ Superior | |
---|---|---|
Battery | 49.92 kWh | 60.48 kWh |
Combined Power | 201 bhp | 201 bhp |
Peak Torque | 310 Nm | 310 Nm |
0-100 kmph | 7.9 seconds | 7.3 seconds |
Claimed Range | 468 km | 521 km |
In terms of charging, the Dynamic variant lacks an 80 kW DC charging port but can still achieve a 0-80 per cent charge in 50 minutes using a 70 kW DC charger, similar to the higher variants.
The introduction of these new variants positions the BYD Atto 3 as a formidable competitor in the Indian EV market, particularly against rivals like the MG ZS EV. Additionally, it prepares BYD to challenge upcoming models such as the Hyundai Creta EV and Maruti Suzuki eVX.
