BYD India has revised ex-showroom prices by ₹50,000–₹1 lakh on selected electric passenger vehicle variants.

BYD India has announced revised ex-showroom prices for select variants across its electric passenger vehicle portfolio, with the changes taking effect from July 1, 2026. The revision ranges from ₹50,000 to ₹1 lakh and applies to specific variants of the BYD ATTO 3, BYD SEALION 7 and BYD SEAL, while prices of certain ATTO 3 and eMAX 7 variants remain unchanged.

The move comes at a time when premium electric vehicle makers in India are balancing demand growth with import exposure, currency movement and higher operating costs. BYD India had earlier flagged a July 1 price action across its passenger EV portfolio, citing foreign exchange movement as a key driver, with the increase expected to vary by model and variant.

In its latest communication, the company said the price revision reflects rising input costs, inflationary pressures and continued investments in network expansion and technology offerings in India. The adjustment also indicates the cost sensitivity of the imported premium EV space, where pricing discipline remains critical as buyers compare electric SUVs and sedans against both luxury ICE models and newer locally assembled EVs.

Alongside the price change, BYD India has expanded the eMAX 7 line-up with new Comfort variants, priced from ₹27.90 lakh. These variants receive a 71.8 kWh battery, strengthening the electric MPV’s appeal for family buyers and chauffeur-driven users seeking greater range headroom without moving fully into the higher end of the portfolio.

Rajeev Chauhan, Head of Electric Passenger Vehicles Business at BYD India, said the company had seen encouraging customer response across its electric passenger vehicle range. “As we continue to invest in technology, customer experience, and network expansion, we have implemented a price revision on a few variants in our range,” he said, adding that BYD would remain focused on advanced, sustainable and high-performance electric mobility solutions for Indian consumers.

BYD’s passenger vehicle range in India now spans the ATTO 3 electric SUV, SEAL electric sedan, SEALION 7 premium electric SUV and eMAX 7 electric MPV. The company’s technology pitch continues to centre on its Blade Battery, Cell-to-Body architecture and iTAC torque control system, with its global DM-i plug-in hybrid technology also introduced for the Indian market.

The brand’s expansion is increasingly tied to retail reach. BYD India operates 48 showrooms across 40 cities, a network size also confirmed by recent dealership expansion updates.

For BYD, the near-term challenge will be to protect value perception in India’s premium EV market while widening access beyond early adopters. The latest price revision suggests that cost pressures are unlikely to ease quickly, but the addition of a larger-battery eMAX 7 variant gives the company another lever in the family EV segment, where range, space and ownership confidence matter as much as headline pricing.
