2024 has been a good year for new car and SUV launches in India. Lots of new models have been introduced this year and May is going to be no different. This month, expect entirely new models as well as variants of existing models to make their debut in the country. Let’s have a look at what all will be launching in India in May 2024.

Force Motors is reintroducing the Gurkha off-roader in India after a brief hiatus. This time, the Gurkha gets a slight makeover, a massive bump in power as well as two extra doors and three extra seats. Yes, the Gurkha is finally available in a 5-door configuration that will rival the upcoming Mahindra Thar 5-door. Under the hood, both versions get the same Mercedes-Benz-sourced 2.6-litre diesel engine producing 138 bhp and 320 Nm and is solely available with a 5-speed manual gearbox.

Maruti Suzuki has opened the booking for the fourth-generation Swift in India for a token amount of ₹11,000. The Swift has been available in India since 2005 and Maruti Suzuki has sold more than 29 lakh units in India. The fourth-generation Swift will get an evolutionary design with a more rounded grille, L-shaped lighting elements in the headlamps and taillamps, new alloy wheel design. Inside, it will get a new 9-inch infotainment touchscreen and a layered dashboard. The Swift will also get a new 1.2-litre petrol engine with mild-hybrid assist.

Porsche revealed the third-generation Panamera late last year and with it, announced the prices of the luxury sedan in India. However, the new Panamera is set to make its debut in India this month. It gets a slightly different design, a new interior with three screens, updated mechanical components and a refreshed powertrain.

The Tata Altroz Racer has been showcased in India on multiple occasions. The first time was the Auto Expo 2023 and the second time was the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024. The Altroz Racer gets the same 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine as the Altroz i-Turbo but will likely have a slight bump in power, with it expected to produce 118 bhp and 170 Nm. Along with this, it is expected to get dual-tone paint with twin racing stripes, a new design for the alloy wheels and an updated features list.
