Citroën India has teased the Dark Editions of the C3, Aircross and Basalt ahead of their launch soon. The French marque is being tight-lipped about the launch of the black editions of the three models but said it is launching in the coming weeks.
One of the biggest highlights of the Dark Edition will be the new Black exterior colour, which right now, isn’t available on the standard versions of the C3, Aircross and Basalt. Even the grille will get black accents and a black Citroën Chevron logo. However, the alloy wheels will most likely have the same dual-tone finish as the standard versions.
More importantly, the new Dark Editions will have all-black leatherette upholstery with red stitching. While the dashboards of the three cars get a plastic finish in the standard versions, the Dark Edition will have a leatherette on the top half of the dashboard, along with horizontal red stitching.
Feature-wise and mechanically, the three cars will likely remain unchanged. They will likely continue with a 10.2-inch infotainment touchscreen, a virtual instrument cluster, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, auto climate control and more. All three have an option of either a 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol or a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine mated to either a 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic.
In comparison, the Citroen C3 gets competition from the Hyundai Exter Knight Edition and Tata Punch Dark Edition. Whereas, the Aircross and Basalt will compete with the Hyundai Creta Knight Edition, Honda Elevate Black Edition, MG Astor Blackstorm, as well as the upcoming Tata Curvv Dark Edition.
