The Dark Editions sees an increment of about ₹19,500 over the top-spec model it is based upon.
Citroën India has launched an exclusive limited edition 'Dark Edition' variant for its C3, Aircross and the Basalt, introducing an all-black styling package. The special edition applies a uniform black theme across all three models, featuring a Perla Nera Black body colour, black alloy wheels, black roof rails, and black accents on the ORVMs and bumpers. The cabin also follows suit, with black-themed interiors and dark chrome elements. The Dark Editions sees an increment of about ₹19,500 over the top-spec model it is based upon.
Model | Variant | Price (ex-showroom, India) |
---|---|---|
Basalt | Turbo Max Dark Edition | ₹12.80 lakh onwards |
Aircross | Turbo Max Dark Edition | ₹13.13 lakh onwards |
C3 | Shine Dark Edition | ₹8.38 lakh onwards |
Inside, the Dark Editions brings an all-black theme for the cabin with red detailing and gloss black finishes in various areas. Custom seat covers, dark chrome mouldings, and grille embellishers are some of the visual enhancements seen on the inside. Even the leatherette seats and instrument panel receive a black treatment.
Though no mechanical changes have been announced, the Dark Edition package is positioned as a visual upgrade. The C3 Aircross, already in the market, retains its existing powertrain—a 1.2L turbo-petrol engine paired with both manual and automatic transmission options. Interestingly, the C3 AT does not receive the Dark Edition, and we wonder why.
The emphasis on dark-themed editions has seen similar success across rival automakers in India, with brands like Tata Motors, Hyundai and even Mahindra rolling out their own ‘Dark’, ‘Knight’, and ‘Ebony’ variants respectively, in recent months.
