The Creta EV is expected to launch between January and March, 2025.
In a new press release sharing its earnings in the first half of the Financial Year 2024-25 (FY25), Hyundai India confirmed that the Creta EV will launch in India in the coming months. However, Hyundai didn’t confirm the exact launch timeline for its upcoming electric compact SUV.

Unsoo Kim, Managing Director, Hyundai India, said, “We will be launching the Creta EV for the mass market in the coming months and we expect it will be a game changer in the EV market.” During Hyundai’s IPO announcement, Tarun Garg, Chief Operating Officer, confirmed that the Creta EV will be launched in Q4 of FY25, meaning it could launch between January and March 2025.

Details about the Creta EV are yet to be confirmed by Hyundai India but the upcoming electric compact SUV is likely to come with a 45 kWh battery with around 450 km of range and a single electric motor setup. It is likely to share its powertrain with the latest Kona EV, which isn’t sold in India.

The Creta EV will look largely similar to the Creta ICE (internal combustion engine) but will have some EV-specific design features. Expect the Creta EV to have a closed-off grille with the charging port housed in the front. The electric Creta will also get aero-designed alloy wheels. Similar design bits include the same inverted L-shaped LED lights in the front and rear as the Creta ICE.

Inside, the Creta EV will likely have the same interior as its ICE counterpart but expect the steering wheel to have Hyundai’s logo in Morse code, as seen in many new models in its global portfolio. It is also likely to get EV-specific features in the infotainment system.
