Tata Motors led the electric commercial vehicle segment with 6,023 units in FY26, up from 4,291 units the year before.
India's electric commercial vehicle (CV) market more than doubled in FY2025–26, with sales hitting 19,454 units compared with 8,820 units in the previous financial year. This is a growth rate of 120 per cent, according to data published by the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) for March 2026 and the full financial year. Electric three-wheelers also posted solid gains, witnessing 18.87 per cent to 8,30,819 units from 6,98,914 units in FY25.
Tata Motors led the electric commercial vehicle segment with 6,023 units in FY26, up from 4,291 units the year before. The Mahindra Group and its subsidiary Mahindra Last Mile Mobility were close behind, hitting sales of 2,888 and 2,885 units, respectively.
Switch Mobility sold 2,255 units while Euler Motors contributed 2,093 units.
In the electric three-wheeler category, the Mahindra Group again topped the table with 1,01,873 units, followed by Mahindra Last Mile Mobility with 1,01,015 units.
Bajaj Auto was the second-largest standalone brand with 89,604 units, while YC Electric Vehicle recorded 36,807 units.
"FY26 has been a watershed year for India's electric mobility story. Total EV retail across Two-Wheelers, Three-Wheelers, Passenger Vehicles, and Commercial Vehicles stood at approximately 24.52 lakh units, growing nearly 24.6% YoY -- with every category delivering strong double-digit growth," CS Vigneshwar, President, FADA, said in a statement.
