The asking price of the Scrambler is likely to go up by ₹10,000

The Triumph Scrambler 400X has been a pretty versatile all-rounder, equally capable in virtually every environment that you put it in. And for 2025, Triumph is aiming to increase its off-roading capabilities by introducing a tubeless spoke wheels version of the same. The upcoming bike has been spotted on shoot in Pune and there are a few more interesting details to spot.

Obviously, the tubeless spoke wheels are going to be the highlight of the updated model. Triumph will not change the sizing of the wheels, though. It will still employ a 19-/17-inch setup and we guess even the MRF tyres will remain the same, which is a shame. Hopefully, Triumph does kit the bike now with sintered brake pads instead of the organic ones like earlier. The issue was that those were prone to excessive brake fade and weren’t capable of stopping the bike effectively.

Alongside the new wheels, Triumph will also have new colours on offer. The spotted bike was seen in a bright sunny yellow shade with black speed blocks, reminiscent of the Yamaha race bikes of the 1970s. It is likely that the Scrambler will now come with a high-rise mudguard and a small windshield, both of which are body-coloured, as standard. And lastly, the plastic engine bash plate will make way for a metal one, providing more safety to the motorcycle in the event of some off-road spill.

Besides these updates, we don’t think there will be many new bits on the bike. The Scrambler’s 398 cc single will continue to make 39.5 bhp and 37.5 Nm with a dedicated Off-road mode allowing the rider to switch off the traction control and rear ABS. The styling as well as the ergonomics are also likely to remain unchanged.

All of these updates will push the asking price of the Scrambler 400X, which is currently ₹2,66,449 (ex-showroom India), up by roughly ₹10,000-₹12,000. Hence, there will also be a more affordable variant sans the bells and whistles that will be introduced to keep the pricing favourable. This is a similar strategy that Triumph (maybe influenced by Bajaj) used with the Speed 400 and the Speed T4. Here’s more details on the more affordable Scrambler 400 trim. We think that both of these new Triumph Scrambler 400s will hit the market in the coming few weeks, soon after Bajaj is done with the launch of the KTM 390 Enduro R.
