The addition of alloy wheels should help make the Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 more practical than it is now.
Acko Drive has exclusively come to know that Husqvarna will launch a new iteration of the Svartpilen 401 with alloy wheels soon. While the launch date is still under wraps, the updated Husky is expected to break cover most likely in July. These new wheels will replace the spoke wheels on the current bike, which will further upgrade the tyres to tubeless units. Along with that, Husqvarna might also add some new features, and shades, up from the current sole offering – silver grey. The details for all of which will be revealed later when we inch closer towards the launch date.

The rest of the bike will more or less remain the same, right from the engine down to its hardware. So, it will continue to be powered by the same KTM-sourced LC4c 399 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled mill, that produces 42.9 bhp and 39 Nm. And the suspension component will also remain alike. Given the fact that the KTM 390 Duke now also comes with cruise control, the Svartpilen 400 might also gain this touring feature, along with a new “Sport” ride mode, too.

As engaging and technically sound as the Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 has been, the scrambler never really took off in terms of sales. Making matters worse was its spoke wheel design, which came with tube tyres, that ate into its practicality. With the new alloy wheels, while Husqvarna might manage to address this issue, what remains to be seen is if the same will resonate with the Indian bikers or not. As for how the Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 differs from the KTM 390 Duke in its ride quality, check out our first ride review below:
