EXCLUSIVE: Kia Clavis Spotted Testing In India Again

Kia India has started extensively testing the Clavis SUV in India as it has now been spotted testing again in the Himalayas. The test mule of the Clavis SUV was covered in heavy camouflage with every panel of the body being covered with either drapes or a camouflage wrap. 

The Clavis can be seen with vertical LED DRLs at the front as well as vertically stacked taillamps. This test mule of the Clavis could be a different or even a lower variant compared to the test mule we spotted earlier. This is primarily because the new spy shots show a different design for the alloy wheels and the test mule also doesn’t seem to have the L-shaped lighting signature next to the rear windshield. 

While the dimensions of the Clavis aren’t known yet, it is expected to slot between the Sonet and Seltos in Kia India’s lineup. Powertrain details are also under wraps but it could come with petrol, turbo-petrol and diesel engine options with manual, iMT, automatic and dual-clutch automatic transmission options. 

The Clavis is expected to launch towards the end of this year. As it will be positioned above the Sonet, expect its prices to start around ₹9 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
