The upcoming bike is expected to slot between the Triumph Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X.
Acko Drive has exclusively come to know that Triumph will be expanding its 400 cc bike portfolio further with a new Brat Track style bike. It will spawn off from the same platform as the Triumph Speed 400, Scrambler 400 X, Speed T4, Scrambler 400 XC, and the Triumph Thruxton 400. Brat track bikes may look like a roadster bike, but the seat height is slightly lower and the wheelbase is shorter too, making them very sporty to ride, and yet the ergonomics are a bit relaxed, but not as laid back as a cruiser, for example. Basically, it’s a mix of a roadster and a scrambler; retro and rugged is the theme. And a distinct design element is the flat bench seat as seen on the test mule.
The “Brat Track” bike from Triumph has been in the making for quite some time, and it was also spotted being tested in Europe in real world conditions earlier this year. The test mule looked quite rugged than the standard Speed 400, but was not as off-road focused as the Scrambler 400 X. Even the fuel tank shape and size, and the handlebar seemed to be carried over from the Scrambler 400 X. These details made us believe that Triumph would call the bike the Street Scrambler 400.

However, the side panels were covered, and the rear design looked the same as the yet-to-launch Triumph Thruxton 400’s. Mechanically, it is likely to feature the same 398.15 cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that delivers 39.5 bhp and 37.5 Nm in the Speed 400. Given how “Brat Track” bikes usually have a sporty character, what remains to be seen is if Triumph retains the same tune or not. Beyond that, the suspension and brake component will largely remain the same which include USD fork and monoshock, and single-disc brake at both ends.
The Triumph Brat Track 400 will be launched in India in October, 2025 and with respect to pricing will be close to ₹2.60 lakh (ex-showroom). Since this segment of bikes doesn’t exist in our market, the upcoming Triumph motorcycle will have no direct rival.
